ZAVADILOVÁ, Ivana
The following Bachelor´s thesis deals with an orphan care in Southern Bohemia region from 1914 to 1918. In the very beginning there can be found a description of public care of orphans in the Kingdom of Bohemia based on imperial legislation. Charity care as an essential element of public care is defined as well. The most extensive part of the thesis is focused on charity care of Czech orphans in South Bohemia run by a charitable association which coordinated provisions of the entire charity child care in the Kingdom of Bohemia (Czech: Česká zemská komise pro ochranu dítek a péči o mládež). In addition, charity care of German orphans is briefly outlined. The main aim of the thesis is to introduce and characterize in detail what particular entities participate in orphan care in South Bohemia and in what way. The research was carried out with respect to data available.
